Local guidance

Windhoek, Namibia

Windhoek uses a green household wheelie bin, a clear-bag recycling service in covered areas and orange skips for garden refuse and building rubble.

Collection and sorting guidance

Household collection

Use the assigned green 240-litre wheelie bin for ordinary household waste and follow the municipal collection day.

Recycling and reuse

In covered areas, place clean and dry plastic, cans, paper and glass in the clear recycling bag beside the wheelie bin.

Food and garden waste

Orange skips are for garden refuse and building rubble, not ordinary household waste.
