Editorial transparency

Editorial and corrections policy

WasteSpot News turns complex official material into practical explanations while keeping a clear route back to the original source.

Purpose

WasteSpot publishes updates about waste, recycling, the circular economy, packaging, e-waste, deposit systems, waste trade and related technologies. The purpose is not to reproduce third-party news, but to explain what changed, who is affected and what practical action may be required.

Source selection

Priority is given to legislation, institutional pages, official announcements, public-authority guidance, intergovernmental organisations and technical documents directly connected to the subject. A secondary source may provide context, but it does not replace a primary source when one is available.

Original writing

WasteSpot articles use an original structure, explanation and conclusion. We do not copy complete articles, publish unchecked automated summaries or present a press release as independent analysis.

Facts, context and interpretation

Dates, obligations, targets and decisions are attributed to the official source. Practical interpretation is presented as editorial context and should not be confused with legal, technical or financial advice. Where a measure still depends on secondary rules, national implementation or future decisions, that uncertainty is stated.

Updates and corrections

If an official source changes, a later decision is published or a material error is identified, the article is updated and its modification date is revised. Corrections that materially change the meaning of an article should be explained visibly within the article.

Conflicts and sponsored content

Advertising displayed on the site does not determine article selection or conclusions. Any sponsored content or relevant commercial relationship must be labelled clearly. The presence of a company, product or advertisement is not a WasteSpot endorsement.
