Collection and sorting guidance
Yellow
Plastic and metal packaging; use transparent or semi-transparent bags where instructed.
Blue
Paper and cardboard, loose or in paper bags rather than plastic bags.
Brown and green
Food waste uses compostable bags in the brown route; container glass uses the green route without bags.
Grey and special
Residual waste uses grey. Bulky, electrical and hazardous items use collection centres, weekend collections or booked services.

Use the labels and instructions supplied by the local service. The colours below apply only within the scope stated for each stream.
